He got overmatched last night. I mean what's the point of a guy who nearly KO'd WK doing in the ring with a guy who's 14-7 in his very next fight?
The sad part of this is, Peter's promoter Duva will push for a title shot, which I don't think he deserves.

I think this was a good fight. He needs to learn some good skill and technique with a solid trainer like you said, but until he gets that trainer, he is staying active. Also, Long is one huge dude, i think it was good for sam to be in the ring against a guy like that if he wants to fight valuev or wlad again.

I agree, but at the same time question the value of less than a round of experience

That fight last night made me wonder why the **** he did not just go after Wlad like that.Surely he would have KOed him inside 3 or so if he would have relentlessly pursued him. I really hope they fight again in the next year or so.

He didn't go after Wlad like that, because Wlad can jab. See, that rhymes, LOL! Long didn't have ****, he didn't do ****, just another mis-match on FnF. Wednesdays are cool, Fridays bite!

What was Julius Long's punch count? Try watching Peter's hands and guard as he swings and jumps. Instead of just watching the slow moving, wrecking ball swinging a wide arc, look how open he is leaving his face.
That's why he lost to Wlad despite three knockdowns.
That's why he would lose to Wlad again despite probably knocking him down again.
I don't understand this fanaticism that follows Sam Peter. He is a poor copy of David Tua, just taller. He is no Tyson. Tyson had skills, speed AND power. Peter has power. That is all.
He has potential for more but in fighting Julius Long it appears that he is squandering it. He has shown no improvement since the Wlad fight and appears to not be increasing his skills in any appreciable way. If you have a proof of improvement please let me know but beating yet another c-list fighter by swinging haymakers is not it.

or he would have got countered and knocked out himself
