If Canelo loses it'll damage future earnings.

If Mayweather-Pacquiao fought straight away whoever lost wouldn't have been selling 1 mil PPVs against Mosley. They made more money dragging it out than they would have fighting straight away.

I completely understand the idea behind 'marinating' fights, i dunno I just think the time is right for this fight. The difference for me in this case as that they really do lack credible fights outside of each other (as long as some of the other guys continue to be reluctant to fight). May Pac made a bunch of decent fights in the meantime.

That's not an excuse for a fighter who has fought Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara. Golovkin would probably be a bigger fight than anyone Alvarez has fought besides Mayweather.
