GGG vs Ward at 168 after Kovalev fight

    I totally agree with you, moving up than back down has proven to be a big downfall for most boxers even elite like RJ Jr. I think stylistcally Ward has the style to shut down GGG but Ward holds the victory over GGG in my eyes, GGG and his team didnt want none.

        I would'nt go as far as to say he gets a fantasy win over him or that he could totally shut down GGG, but he would be the favorite imo. Ward is an absolutely fantastic inside fighter, which on paper should be kryptonite to GGG's style but it still would'nt be easy and I think the fight would end up being absolutely brutal. Which is why I would love to see the fight.

          If ward beats Kov and GGG has already defeated Canelo, I could see it happening.

          If GGG hasn't defeated Canelo, then I would prefer Ward fight Adonis or Bieterbiev or another LHW and watch GGG/Canelo.

            Hell yes would like to see that fight. Only thing is ward looks really thick set at the weight. Lots of muscle packed on, hopefully he can get down healthily as strength and stamina are going to be two huge parts of his arsenal.

              I voted no. Asking a guy who is in his 30s to come back down after moving up will kill whatever they have left. If the fight is to be made, it has to be at 175

                I'm not sure if at this point the fight is a good idea for GGG. Ward said in an interview that he was like 186 on fight night against Barrera? That's on top of being a more accomplished boxer.

                I would be interested in it if GGG beats a top name at 168 first and Ward expresses comfort with the idea of making 168 again. If both of those things are true then it would be a big fight.

                Another thought - if Ward beats Kovalev, how many will give GGG a shot to win? This might be a better plan if Ward should lose to Kovalev.

                    Andre's sharp enough that he's not going to **** his body over, especially for a fight against Golovkin. Andre Ward walked into the ring for the Barrera fight, apparently, in the mid 180s.

                    After beating Kovalev on PPV (for the last fight owed to HBO), Ward likely looks to fight Stevenson at 175 to unify/undispute (also on PPV), and likely rules at 175 for the forseeable future in PPV/PPV-type fights (vs Fonfara/Beterbiev/Braehmer and then working through the WBC/WBA/IBF mandatories as they arise).

                    With Golovkin still not doing monster business in his own right, why would Ward head back down for the fight?

                      Chad Dawson should've shut his mouth, let the "light heavyweight king versus super middleweight king" arc ride, and then get himself that extra 3/4 pounds of fluids (whether that would've helped him is for him and his camp to know).

                      Ward isn't one to make such a mistake.
