De La Hoya/Mayorga - pros and cons

    De La Hoya

    Pros:
    1) Loads of experience against talented fighters
    2) Never stopped, until his last fight
    3) Mayweather in his corner
    4) Fighting at a more natural weight
    5) Not over the hill just yet

    Cons:
    1) Lots of hard fights may have taken a toll
    2) Never stopped until his last fight
    3) 34 isn't exactly young
    4) Tends to coast part of each fight
    5) Power isn't always evident
    6) Ring rust

    Mayorga

    Pros:

    1) Balls to the wall all the time
    2) Loads of power
    3) Not young, but doesn't show it
    4) Not intimidated

    Cons:

    1) Poor discipline and training regimen
    2) Listens to Don King
    3) Not a particularly skilled boxer
    4) Serious distractions in his personal life

I put my money on De La Hoya, but, after watching Byrd crash and burn, I'm not sure. Should I hedge my bets?

Remember that Mayorga took a lot of punishment from the power punching Trinidad, so this could be a factor as well. Does Mayorga still have the same durability after the fearsome beating he took from Trinidad?
    Later brother brologs.
