You're under the assumption that Haye is the same fighter he was 5 years ago.

Haye would stink the place out against Joshua, just like how he did against Wladimir & Valuev. I have no interest in watching Haye literally running around the ring.

I'm not doubting his cruserweight credentials, just his heavyweight ones. Haye's best win at HW is Delboy ffs.

i'm no fan of haye, but i think it's a mistake not to match him, joshua and fury against each other as soon as possible. these fights are absolutely huge for british boxing. if you wait 12 months, all three of them could potentially pick up losses in that time and ruin the lustre

The way Joshua's being matched, he's not losing anytime soon....fighting a bum of the month campaign if ever I saw one.

Hearn was quite clear about his plans for AJ before the Martin fight, which was that a series of voluntaries would follow, which surely has as much to do with giving him more experience as it has to do with the money? Whatever. A Haye fight this year though would definitely be AJ's biggest challenge to date.

Overrated? He's a former WBA, WBC, WBO cruiserweight champion and WBA heavyweight champion. Difficult to argue with his accomplishments. Go watch the Mormeck, Maccarinelli and Chisora fights. The guy can really fight, end of story.

Not surprising to hear this from Hearn, he only wants bums for Joshua and Haye doesn't fit the mould.

Haye's heavyweight belt was just as worthless as Joshua's belt. He won it from a sloth that was coming off a loss to Holycorpse, and said sloth was literally handed that belt back after losing to Chagaev because of the latter's struggle with AIDS.

Not sure where you've gotten this idea Haye has a very solid chin from, either. He got flattened by an old Carl Thompson and had been dropped multiple times in his career.

Not saying those guys were killers (although Enzo had one defeat, early in his career, and Mormeck was the division's best), my point was WATCH his performance. The eyeball test is an important gauge of a fighter. It seems to be something that's neglected in the age of keyboard warriors poring over BoxRec and basing all their 'knowledge' on records and social media chat. If you know how to 'watch' boxing, and you can identify skill and ability rather than just blindly watching a 'fight', you can clearly tell good fighters from bad fighters and great fighters from good fighters. I'll give you an example. Fans with no real knowledge of boxing who base their opinions and views on BoxRec and 'accepted internet wisdom' would say Henry Cooper was a BUM. But watch both of his fights with Ali. Eyeball test. His left jab and left hook gave Ali lots of trouble. He was timing Ali very well in both fights. Ali later called him his toughest and best opponent. In terms of the eyeball test, it's obvious he was a very capable fighter, not an all-time great but a very solid boxer with some nice skills. That's something you gauge from the eyeball test that BoxRec doesn't tell you. Boxing fans these days, 99% of the time, are the empty-headed suckers who'd rather post an amusing .gif than actually discuss the sweet science of boxing.

Hearn tell Haye to have something of worth for Joshua. It annoys me that Haye thinks he can get a shot at Joshua without earning it. Also split negotiations will be an obstacle as Haye would not settle for anything less than 55%. Fighting punching bags for sparring in an official fight doesnt earn you anything. The fight last week robbed everyone.
