Comments Thread For: HBO Plans European Vacation - Fury-Klitschko, Kovalev-Chilemba

Monday Night Boxing. It doesn't exactly have the makings of a long-running series (at least not on stateside TV), but the brass at HBO are prepared to experiment for a one-time offering if it means bringing Sergey Kovalev's next bout to its home viewers.

I guess they could add Brook/Vargas and Golovkin/Saunders.

No PPV. Airing live in primetime on Russia Channel One, the country's biggest terrestrial network. HBO's "profit" comes in finding means to bring live (or at least same-day) coverage of one of its most-watched boxers.

Kathy Duva is begging HBO to take part of all this. Hoping to convince Peter Nelson about the negative impact of Kovalev fighting on another network than HBO. After completing her deal with the russian copper company & and the german promoter, she's now showing HBO how their non-involvement could negatively affect Kovalev's reputation, not to mention the relation it has with HBO's futur profits on Kovalev next bouts.
She must try hard to convince Mr. Nelson about how these consequences could lead fans to realise the lie that Kovalev was never tied under an (Exclusivity) contract with HBO, which would automatically bring up to light the fact they strategically avoid to fight Stevenson (AGAIN) by repeating over and over that this clash couldn't happen on any other network than HBO.
Kathy Duva is a liar, she can say what she wants; they only use Stevenson name to gain more value without the intention of fighting him. Anyway, all this crap about HBO broadcasting this russia fight in US afternoon or as a night replay, is just another ultimate lie from Dan Rafael joking blog; other writers only pick the same bluff and rewrote it in their ways. Thinking Dan had a serious source.
Believe that, HBO will not broadcast this Russia fight. 1st, Monday afternoon is absurd. And 2nd, Monday night everybody will know the outcome and You*tube will have & play the full fight replay before HBO could show it. It would simply be a deficit for HBO, so forget HBO, Duva is a liar, Rafael is a poor story teller and Kovalev ducked Stevenson...

Interesting take from Stevenson's NSB fanbase. You just keep at it, son, they'll come round in the end.
