It's not the end all but it's a guy with a name that has been calling him out for a bit now. Jacobs is a big fight at 160 and I'm not sleeping on him at all. I think Jacobs is a stud and I've always been a huge fan but the problem is that he hasnt seemed eager to fight GGG either. He went ghost on us since Quillin and as soon as his name got tied to GGG..the very next day or two his team announces a fight with no opponent. Eubank Jr has a fight coming up he wont be ready for sept. Lara just fought now..in May. GGG is fighting in Sept. Why not Lara? Unless he's getting Canelo there's not a single relevant name at ANY division who's willing or able to fight him in Sept. Lara just called him out again and has time for a long rest and full training camp.
GGG would crush Lara

It goes the other way as well, just because public perception is that you would crush a guy is not a legit enough reason NOT TO FIGHT HIM!
Really don't matter what we thing because that is not how fights are won, it is really no legit reason NOT to make this fight to be honestComment

By whom? Not by team Lara or Hbo, they were just talking options and Sanchez got some digs in at Lara. It was not even an option for the date since Lara's purse would eat up the combined budget. Mora may have fit the budget but that's an even less interesting fightComment

I wouldn't mind seeing the fight becuase it would be a good style clash. However, I think GGG stops him. Lara is a really talented fighter but there are things about the matchup that concern me.
GGG has a clear size advantage and power advantage.
GGG is able to cut off the ring well. He'll be able to cut off Lara's exit routes and he also can throw a nice hook to catch Lara on the way out.
GGG is also one of the top body punchers in the game and Lara leaves his body exposed often while covering up to protect his head.
It bothers me that Lara just shells up when he gets cornered and allows his opponent to throw big shots to his body. Thats a no no against GGG. I think GGG's size, power and body work will wear Lara down.
There are some pros for Lara as well. He will be able to land the straight left and use his speed to get off first. The jab will be an important weapon for him as well.Comment

HBO would much rather have GGG vs Lara over GGG vs TBA like it is right now..I mean...you'd think.Comment

Lara has been vocal about wanting that fight, Loeffler approached Sanchez about it and he flat out said no. It's pretty straightforward.Comment
-
I doubt it, depends on TBA. If they're gonna pay 1.5m+ for a no hoper he better bring something, like a belt or fans. Anyway I'd love to see this as a mando defense. He's now got 3 belts to defend and Lara is a waste of a voluntaryComment

A win over Lara has way more meaning than Wade or Monroe Jr. Even at a size disadvantage.
Lara wants to move to 160 and fight the man. The man should answer...the way they want people to answer for him.Comment

As I said, would love to see it as a mando defense. Time to show you're serious, Lara. Hit me up for a bet then, points or account or whateverComment
