I wouldn't mind seeing the fight becuase it would be a good style clash. However, I think GGG stops him. Lara is a really talented fighter but there are things about the matchup that concern me.

GGG has a clear size advantage and power advantage.
GGG is able to cut off the ring well. He'll be able to cut off Lara's exit routes and he also can throw a nice hook to catch Lara on the way out.
GGG is also one of the top body punchers in the game and Lara leaves his body exposed often while covering up to protect his head.

It bothers me that Lara just shells up when he gets cornered and allows his opponent to throw big shots to his body. Thats a no no against GGG. I think GGG's size, power and body work will wear Lara down.

There are some pros for Lara as well. He will be able to land the straight left and use his speed to get off first. The jab will be an important weapon for him as well.

Not sure if serious. Where is the offer from Lara then, did I miss it? Does Lara hava a title at 160? Why would GGG waste time with him?

Lara was only 160 tonight, Vanes was 170.

The speed difference would be interesting to see, but the size difference would be just as big. Still a much better opponent than Monroe or Wade.

OK well fight him and crush him he been calling him out for the last 2 years

Didn't people say this about Matthysse as well and how he would crush Garcia? I favor GGG as well but that doesn't mean the fight shouldn't happen because people "THINK" GGG would beat him

You have the guy who style people love and you have the style the people "Hate" and want to see him get destroyed so why not just make the fight?

People may say that, but it will still he his best win...by far too. And that's where the truth lies in the issue. If he's gonna beat him, and I think he will, fight him. Instead his team comes up.with excuse after excuse.

Hey newbie A side are the one who made offers, unless you think GGG is the B side.

              GGG running out of excuses.

This is the problem we're all talking about...You want other people to beat people for him like he's Mayweather and you have to earn it.

Why should Jacobs have to beat Lara? He beat Quillin which is probably better than Lemieux (maybe...). Why doesnt GGG beat him? What logic is this?

It's not always how you win..but WHO you beat. Jacobs lined up a fight with a tba and bjs isnt making the fight for sept. Which basically means GGG is going to fight some random ass guy.

Jubei is hilarious too. They're using the "who is Lara" excuse for..GGG of all people.

The same excuse you guys are mad about Canelo or Floyd or Cotto using.

                    Smh

Its like the delusional ones are purging themselves recently. They're showing up with these outlandish and hilarious claims that it's easy to weed em out.

Loeffler was approached about the fight, Sanchez told him no.

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs), believes Erislandy Lara (21-2-2, 12KOs) h

"When Tom came to me and offered Lara and Sergio Mora, I'm the one who said 'I don't want those fights.' I'm the one who said that before there was a chance to have it discussed with Gennady. I told that to Tom, because first of all Lara has not earned the right to fight Golovkin. And the reason I say that is because he takes fights like Delvin, and Delvin is not a bad fighter but he doesn't belong at that level. He struggled with Delvin. Yes he won every round but he didn't do what he needed to do in order to be in the mix," Sanchez explained to BoxingScene.com.

"I don't know why he took his foot off the gas. He could have had Delvin out of there but he didn't. He could have done more to Canelo but he didn't. So that doesn't make him appealing to me and our team - and that's the reason why I turned him down."
