I think David Haye could seriously be the worst thing for boxing today

Gets to fight on free TV in the UK which draws 3 million viewers and would help create new fans and shows for casual fans. Instead he's using it as a way to get easy cash grabs and put people off boxing with joke events and match ups like this.

Now there's a fake rivalry between Briggs/Haye which is more of a joke than that fake Audley **** a few years ago. Then Haye expects that beating 3 of the worst HW's currently in boxing today will get him a title shot while other fighters have to actually legitimately earn their title shots.

Then he'll get his big PPV fight with Joshua, cash out and retire once again with a lot of money in the bank. Scamming the fans out of money once again to pay for his debts he managed to get while out of boxing for 3 years. I hope some way Briggs KO's this con man so he doesn't get the cash out fight.

I hope everyone else can see how awful this guy really is. I used to be a fan and wanted him to return but now I understand what his true goal really is. It's such a ****ing shame that people will fill his pockets once again after his embarrassing original HW run.

    .
Yeah, but you can look at it another way. 95% of the people tuning in don't have a clue about boxing, they don't know or care how bad the opponents are. They're more likely to be entertained by a 2 round knockout than a 12 round tactical fight. That's how Haye sells out the 02 and gets so many viewers.

Same as AJ, he sells massive amounts of tickets and PPV's because he appeals to a different type of viewer. They don't know about boxing. They don't know how bad his opponents are, they don't even care. They just want to see him knock them out. They want action.

So i don't think it puts people off boxing, not casuals/non-followers of the sport anyway, it probably keeps them coming back. They would more likely to be put off by tuning into something like Manny v Floyd or Fury v Wlad because they were caught up in the hype and marketing and then they become bored to death because there's no knockdowns or beatings, they don't understand what's happening technically.

The people Haye will alienate if he continues beating bums is the real boxing fans, which he probably doesn't mind. The real money comes from the casuals and the people who barely even watch boxing, which is why him v Joshua will be huge when it happens. They already know their demographic.

I'm not disagreeing with you by the way, i agree with pretty much everything you said. I just don't underestimate the ******ity of the general public.
