    Erislandy Lara vs. Gennady Golovkin

Lara is the biggest name out there who wants Golovkin. Make the fight happen, but it doesn't seem like they want the fight because Abel Sanchez said Monroe is a bigger name than Lara, but lets look at the facts. Lara has fought Trout, Canelo, and Paul Williams and arguably beat them all. Lara and Golovkin have both been on PPV once, Golovkin sold 97,000 and Lara sold 300,000

I agree. Golovkins choices right now, if No Canelo are Lara because of styles, Saunders in England(SCARED), Jacobs in USA(SCARED), Eubank (not ready imho),Brook at catchweight( not feasible) or move up and fight Ramirez(not ready imho). Looks like Lara is only feasible one if No Canelo.

If he can't get Saunders/Jacobs/Eubank, then sure, I guess, not a fight i'd really care for but better than another Wade.

This......... Lara is the 4th option. As long as he doesn't request 3 millions....

I don't see him as 4th. I put DeGale and Ramirez way before him. Lara's still an unknown, overrated Haymon fighter one division lower. He doesn't do much for Golovkin.

But remember GGG fights at least three times a year so it's not bad for his image either. Many assh0les need GGG to beat the **** out of Lara. (and I'm a Lara fan)

Neither DeGale or Rameriz would be available for GGG in early Septmeber. DeGale is supposed to unify with Jack in September and Ramirez has a fight in late July.

Yes, but DeGale would qualify as 'challenging' himself. Lara would not.

Meh, I don't care about Lara. He's done nothing to deserve the fight besides whining loudly. He hasn't even moved up to MW officially. It's literally a lose-lose fight for Golovkin. Lara brings no fans, Haymon negotiations, and is still a SWW. He wont get any respect for beating a guy a division lower.

Correct, but the focus is no longer Sept. The next Golovkin fight could happen in July or early Aug, 2 mths is plenty to prepare. Then they can get either Jack/DeGale or Ramirez in Oct/Nov.

Sorry, I was talking more long term than just the next fight.

Of course Lara is more accomplished than guys like Monroe and Wade, but as far as general recognition he is no different.

Golovkin's next fight will be Canelo (unlikely), Jacobs (unlikely), Saunders (more likely) or Eubank jr....which is hard to complain about considering other times when Golovkin had no options whatsoever to step in the ring with him. I wouldn't mind the Lara fight, but only to shut up a few morons on here when he gets blasted in 2 rounds.
