it was also monroe first 12 rounder too and he was a massive underdog, monroe also only fought one sanction body ranked MW before the wba sky rocketed him to no1 in the wba, both golovkin and lara got their wba titles in ideal fashion (won interim-got promoted), but they could have tried harder, ward got rodriguez with al during the cold war to come to hbo and hbo were fine with it and paid rodriguez for his service. lara not being on HBO imo would have more to do with his style than the politics, guys dont look good vs lara, hell most fight with lara dont look good, HBO is in the business of wanting exciting fights, sadly its come at a handful of mismatches in the process. Im not overly eager or the vanes rematch but vanes has always been a good opponent for JMW today.Comment

Looks like Lara using GGG name to hype his next fight again.
When is this dude going to fight and beat someone worth a damn?Comment

I like Lara, i think he's a good fighter and i'm a fan. That said, he calls everyone out..GGG, Mayweather, Cotto, Thurman. It's what he does.
Andrade called out Lara..that fight didn't happen either.
It's no surprise he's mentioning GGG out again when he's fighting this weekend.
I see people mentioning Jacobs Vs Lara, and i think that's a good idea. If Lara really wants the fight, then get Haymon to make a Jacobs fight, beat them..then try force the fight with Golovkin. Become his mandatory.
That said, i don't think Lara is serious about the fight at all.
If Lara was to move up to 160. It's not a fight i'd be against. I'd prefer Canelo, Jacobs and BJS. But i'd like to see how Golovkin copes with Lara's style. I think he's stop him to be honest.
There is sitll fights at 154 i'd prefer to see Lara in however.Comment

funny how everyone says Abel is a liar, and full of ****, until theres a quote that suits their agenda, and then suddenly its gospel truth.
Sure, its not outside the realm of possibilities that a promoter or manager might ask the trainer their thoughts about a particular opponent, but the idea that Abel Sanchez has veto authority on opponent selection is laughable.Comment

Peter peeping f@gg0t lol
Lara and DeCubas Jr are just talking because that's easier than actually fighting.
Canelo caught the L to end all L's this week and none of your dumb horse **** changes that.
Here's the droopy douche in your avi ducking Lucian Bute:
Buy your b!tch some baby wipes before you eat that assComment

true, but thing is one could say the same about alot of GGG opponents, and IMO lara would be one of the best name son GGG resume today if they fight. hell gabe rosado got a direct shot without beating anyone or having to establish himself at MW.Comment

thats because k2 never came out and said they never approach abel, k2 has CLEARLY shown they have no issues rebutting ppl when it comes to protecting themselves. sanchez slipped up, said they were interested in both lara and mora, sanchez said no, and tom never addressed it much like hes always addressed other things when it drops in the media. actually its quite common for a fighter to take the advice of his trainer and not take a fight right away. just look at how many times povetkin pulled out a fight vs wlad bc teddy atlas felt he wasnt ready.Comment

when you have a thin resume, with a fan base that is ko crazy, a knockout is good enough.
When it come to some people and its a fighter that they like, a win is good regardless of the quality of opposition.
since they dont like Garcia, they'll trash him even though his resume makes GGG's look like a guy joke.Garcia isnt dominant all the time because he actually fights good opposition on a regular basis.
How can a guy with so few fights have defeated more champions, actually won his titles in the ring, get no love but a guy who gets handed belts and has beat no elite fighter yet be considered a monster? Only on NSBComment

Another guy who could've got that WBA belt off Jacobs. It's easier to just talk about it and fight Tom Doran thoughComment
