Come Sunday he'll stop asking for the fight.

But the Lara brigade (all 10 of them) will claim GGG is ducking him.

I'd like to see GGG v Lara just to shut up the haters.

But you know, if GGG beat Lara, they'd say "Lara wasn't used to the weight/why is GGG picking on smaller fighters" etc.

Ideally, if Lara's serious, I'd like him to fight at 160 once or twice - perhaps against Lee first. In the meantime, Golovkin can fight BJS and unify. Then GGG would have his mandatory defence against Heiland, then there's Jacobs, and then there could be Lara? It gives Lara about 18 months to prepare and get used to the weight if he's serious and is planning on moving up.

This assumes Canelo has lost his balls and continues killing himself to make 155 - but I think we'll see him move Canelo weight to 156 or 157 within 6 - 12 months.

Jacobs vs Lara would be a perfect prelude to a Golovkin fight

We'd get none of the 'oh but he was a 154lb fighter though' from the usual suspects who are clamoring so hard for the fight (if Lara wins).

If Jacobs wins, its a big fight with Golovkin, as WBA mandatory.

Jumping straight into a fight with the middleweight champion is silly.. Prove yourself a little first at 160

IF Canelo falls through and Saunders can't get made then this would be a good option number 3

Lara defeated Alzarez and only gingers and Mexicans would disagree with that.

Wasn't it going around that Jacobs and Golovkin would fight if the Canelo fight fell through? I really want to see that. If not that then a unification with BJS.

If both of those options aren't available Lara isn't a bad choice for a change of opposition.

if no jacobs or saunders, then i hope GGG will fight lara this year. it will be a new style for him and if he wins impressively it will make canelo look even worse

Word is that if no Canelo then the sanctioning bodies would force either GGG vs Jacobs or BJS.

                  I'm not holding my breath.
