McDonnell has a 6 inch height advantage and massive reach advantage over Rigo.

I'm not a McDonnell fan but i'd say outside of Donaire, he would be by far the best guy Rigo has fought. Plus with that size difference, it could actually be interesting. McDonnell is no bum and Rigo would need to be on form to get around those physical advantages. Plus we have seen Rigo get dropped and not look spectacular against much taller guys like the Japanese fella Amagasa. He did get the job done in the end but McDonnell is better than Amagasa in my opinion, similar height but slightly longer reach, great stamina and has also shown a bit of power lately. Add that with the fact Rigo is inactive and not getting any younger...

I'd still favour Rigo of course, but it might not be a walk in the park for him.

How does a guy that is listed at 5'10 fight as a bantamweight? That is amazing. Hisashi Amagasa was about that height and knocked down Rigo twice. So maybe Mcdonnell can use his height and reach to do the same.
