Think about it for a moment; of the assumed $800m that Floyd ended up making in career purses, $700m of that likely came from after the De La Hoya fight. You figure taxes, Haymon's share, camp expenses, etc and Floyd likely cleared $300m-$400m from his fights.
Beyond that, Floyd didn't say he had $1.2B; he said that he had a real estate holdings portfolio worth $1.2B (with New York property holdings giving him some pride).
Ignoring any of the money that Floyd made before the ODLH fight (which was basically used to build his Vegas home, as the 'Big Boy Mansion' was already built, furnished, etc; my assumption is that his LA home and Miami home were already in hand), you've literally got a decade of time to build equity with $300m-$400m (and that's assuming that the TMT brand, Mayweather Boxing Club, Mayweather Promotions, and any other Floyd ventures didn't provide any other revenues to Floyd).
With the real estate market cratering 2006/2007, imagine the amount of money someone could've made if they bet $1m on real estate at the lows; Floyd, from just 2006-2007 alone, Floyd had $30m-$40m to ponder working with.
Whether the final number actually ended up being $1.2B is for Floyd to know; to argue as if someone couldn't have gotten to that point in real estate when having $300m-$400m to work with, over a decade of time, is silly.
