They aren't negotiating jack shhhh, you don't cough up your biggest bargaining chip if you have any sort of business sense. Canelo isn't going to fight him at 160, so what does he have on the table that brings Golovkin to 155 now? A ppv fight? Golovkin is making a grip on Kazakhstan endorsement as is already.

I don't know who GGG's next opponent is going to be but I can't see how it won't end up being another sucky fight.

Canelo can continue to feast on interesting/semi-big name welterweights but underneath the marketing it's still just going to be a continued stream of also rather sucky fights.

If Canelo fights Lemieux or another guy at 160 then it's interesting. Otherwise I just don't really care anymore.

GGG's team needs to get serious with the matchmaking. Something's got to give on their end to make something work, and it's probably got to be how much money they make. They won't lure anybody in the way they've been doing it.

It's almost like there's a reversal of roles now. Now that Canelo is no longer the champ but still trying to make the fight it's like Team GGG is avoiding it and taking their belt and running. How are they allowing Canelo to bully them like this and running away? There is not a single reason for them to walk away from negotiations... Wtf is that? If the whole problem was the principle in regards to the belt what's the hold up now? How are they not just agreeing for the fight!? You'd think Team GGG would be chomping at the bit... Make the fight...
Exactly. This is a complete win-win for GGG. He gets his superfight with Canelo. Plus, he doesn't have to worry about losing his precious belts. Because I can't imagine Canelo dropping the meaningless trinket, only to try and fight GGG for it. Just make the non-title superfight.

Problem now is that for all of GGG's belt collecting. Is that eventually you have yo defend the belts. And defending those belts is a full-time job. He's got a mandatory with Jacobs. He's got a mandatory with the WBC. When does thay leave time for fights that actually matter? Its ******.

Canelo's biggest bargaining chip is that he's the biggest star in the sport. He's GGG's gateway to mainstream stardom. Why wouldn't GGG fight him at 155, in a non-title fight? Its the biggest fight available to him. Unless of course he wants to move up and see the Ward-Kovalev winner. If that's his next move, kudos to GGG.

Be prepared to see some TERRIBLE GGG mismatches. JACOBS is fighting in July so won't be ready by Sept. Looks like 4 loss Heiland and maybe later Tureno Johnson or 5'-4" Kuntsidze

GGG has absolutely NO one to fight worth a damn. Canelo has whoever he wants. I prefer the winner of Thurman/Porter. Or

              Andrade
Saunders (He can afford to pay what Saunders is asking)
Jacobs (Would stop anything to fight Canelo)
              Either Charlo Bros.
              Garcia
              Bradley
              Pac
              Brook
              J-Rock
