Canelo didn't throw his belt in the garbage, he sent it to Canelo in a nice lil shiny package with a pleasant note attached to it. It'd probably have worked out for him at least a lil better if he did throw it in the garbage doe.

I suspect the problem is Oscar gots unreasonable demands on the cut. Cuz it sounds like weight wasn't the problem, as expected, to hear K2's take on things. And remember Oscar just said not long ago he'd want a 70/30 Canelo cut to make Canelo vs Floyd II right now. Thats nuts so I suspect he had a nuts take on Canelo vs GGG. Maybe he wanted 90/10 Canelo or something & K2 was in the 70/30 or 60/40 Canelo region. Thats the only thing I can think of & if thats the case these guys won't ever fight til one loses or GGG gets old & the other guy bends.

Do what?!?! The A-side doesn't get to rewrite the weight classes! Get out of here with that garbage.

Canelo gets too much credit for fighting the Trouts, Lara of the world.
Yes he fought them, but it's a easy thing when neither guy has Knockout power and you know your promoter has judges in his pocket, so all you have to do it last 12 and you will automatically win on the score cards.

But To get in the ring with someone who is more than likely gonna put you to sleep, no robbery, no funny score cards, no disputes.

Where you haters this outraged when Floyd forced Canelo to a 152 cw when he was champ at 154, and unlike Canelo, had fought twice in that division?

what about Manny's cw fights or Cotto's? what about Ward-Dawson? DLH-Hopkins?

Oh yeah, they did that **** because they were a-sides, but it's only a sin when Canelo tries to do it? I dont think it is, considering Canelo is outmatched against GGG in every dept, physically and technically, unlike those other fighters were

No they still had time to negotiate money and GGG has never played hardball when it comes to money. Holding on to the belt would have made the 155 weight non negotiable. They dropped it because simply put, they do not want the fight unless they can weaken GGG at the scales. They will fake negotiations now saying that they "tried", but it is bullsh|t.

But again if Oscar is saying he'd want 70/30 Canelo to make Floyd vs Canelo II you don't think its reasonable he's talking 90/10 Canelo to make GGG vs Canelo & that K2 & GGG wouldn't be cool with only 10% of the pie?

And Tommy L has already said the weight wasn't the issue.

Whatever the case Canelo is gonna look like a *****. The meme thread is already looking funny as f#ck within 24 hrs.

Oscar knows what GGG primarily wanted. GGG wanted that belt. By giving him the belt, Canelo's team gave up the one thing GGG wanted most to decrease pressure against them. This is all a mirage. They knew they painted themselves into a corner and gave up that belt. Now they are "negotiating" in an attempt to save face.

I'm not hating, just citing facts.

The weight classes are there for a reason. This isn't like that kids game 4-square, where the guy in the 1 spot gets to make the rules. It's boxing, and it has established weight classes.

The rest is just obfuscation, and isn't addressing how a guy holding a belt at 160 refused to defend that belt at 160.

But it's good he got stripped, so props to the WBC. It's rare, and good, to see the sanctioning bodies doing the right thing.

Well there has got to be something there thats preventing an agreement thus far. Cuz I mean you can't too "good faith" fight talks to the level a guy agrees to what you're offering lol.

I mean wtf if Oscar & Canelo go in trying to save face & offer 158, their favored gloves & ring size, Canelo enters the ring last & gets announced last, they pick the venue, rematch clause & 70/30 their way & K2 & GGG go yea thats great fax us the contract & we'll immediately sign.

There is no excuse for Canelo's ducking. The money was there. Everything was.
