Want to know his agenda? He's holding out hope for Floyd to come back and possibly beat Canelo. Then he'll claim Mayweather is the Lineal MW Champion if he wins.

    He also really dislikes GGG.

Nobody cares about lineal, Stevenson was the lineal champ, and he became a joke.

Somehow, only Larryxxx and Pigeons seem to understand this concept. He's still the man at MW, as Canelo holds the Lineal, TBRB, and The Ring titles. That means a title claim without sanctioning fees.

There's a reason why there was a heavy emphasis placed on those titles by the ring announcer for Canelo vs. Khan. And it was also the first statement made on the press release/story that was first posted here on boxingscene. Canelo and GBP still have bargaining chips that are apparently unseen by the average fan.

Nobody Currsss, he handed his belt to GGG, no point in having leverage in a fight you are not willing to make anyway.

We're just saying, that lineal title is less than worthless. Except as exhibit A in how such rankings are broken, those that rank lineal champs #1. The Ring sometimes deviates for good cause but even Stevenson, Rigo and Erdei were much better, more deserving champs

The lineal is still an illustrious honor in my book, despite whatever any other modern fan thinks. In the middleweight division, that means sharing a title lineage with Bob Fitzsimmons, Harry Greb, Tony Zale, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Emile Griffith. Those guys didn't have to care about an IBF or IBO belt because they were the man who beat the man.

Lineal means more than alphabet belts. Beat the man to become the man. That's how it should be.

Except Cotto wasn't the man at MW in any sane sense, though he may be more of a man than Canelo. There's been some bad lineal champs, Cotto very much included, but nobody has stooped as low as Canelo, in every sense

I've mentioned this months ago and many of these Golovkin fans didn't even know what lineal is, they thought Golovkin would become lineal if the WBC stripped Canelo.
