This is what I don't get with the level of critism he receives. He was going after Paul Williams (a man that everybody said nobody wanted to fight) until he had his tragic accident. When he pursued Cotto who took a loss to Trout and scuppered the fight. Alvarez did the right thing and fought the man that beat the man that he wanted to get in with. Not many would have done that. Especially not against Trout. Then he goes against his promoters wishes and steps in there with Lara.

The kid is clearly willing to fight. I'm not saying that the way him and his team go about that is beyond reproach because it isn't but at times people act as if he's the worst thing in boxing.

Paul Williams? You mean the same Paul Williams that was iced by Sergio? The same Paul Williams who clearly wasn't the same after that and lost to Lara only to get a gift decision? A decision so bad that the judges for that fight were suspended. That Paul Williams?

So blatantly obvious. By Canelo dropping the WBC belt he won't be fighting GGG this September. GGG will be fighting for it vs Daniel Jacobs. Good riddance Canelo. You are a sham. Why did you not allow HBO to weigh you pre-fight vs Khan? Simple. You were above 180, something you claimed to never do in HBO's "Face Off".

The thing is, people in boxing, specifically those of us who establish legacies, we remember the duckers. This is why at the end of the day "Canelo-weight" will be remembered more than what this guy did inside the ropes.

Exactly. GGG is the one with the history of being difficult to deal with calls out big names does the bait and switch and turns around and fights bums instead. Canelo has fought everyone, he's given up weight and money to make big fights fans wanted. He's now big enough where he doesn't have to give up weight or money to anyone least of all GGG. He dictates the terms and GGG and his joke promoter thought they could use that belt for leverage at the negotiations table. And GB said ok we will show you how much leverage that belt has and threw it in the trash. If GGG wants the fight take GB's offer he is the bigger star you said you would fight at 154 for manny and floyd so fight Canelo at 155. or you can keep fighting bums like Wade for little money. LMAO
