Manny Steward reflects on Wlad's TKO of Byrd and talks about what's ahead for the new IBF Heavyweight Champion, as well as some very interesting and even controversial comments on helping Jermain Taylor in his defense of the middleweight title vs. Winky Wright.
Manny says that he hasn't even talked to Taylor trainer Pat Burns and that if he isn't the no. 1 man in the corner, he won't be able to do very much. He references the infamous fiasco with Prince Naseem Hamed and says being a co-trainer doesn't work and the results are disastrous.
Steward was apparently BEGGED multiple times by Taylor's chief second to help train Jermain for this fight...what does that say about the confidence in Taylor's corner?
