so u dont understand that Pedvetkin took this out of FEAR!..if everyone who fought wilder tried to juice out of fear i'd be callin him the most feared/greatest fighter of all time...Thats the problem though. Wilder needed this fight a lot more than Povetkin needed it - Wilder has zero legitimacy at the top of the the division, and this fight offered that, as well as a massive payday. The WBC and the Russian commission seem more than happy to allow the fight to be postponed, so i'm not sure why Wilder's team seem so adamant about not fighting later on, with the added caveat with Povetkin of a very strict testing regime.
Who is Wilder going to fight to become a decent HW contender? Pulev is a possibility, but he has a very comfy relationship with the IBF, and a Joshua fight would get him a much bigger payday.
everything povetkin has done is in question now...wilder boarded his flight when all of the nation said he wouldnt, he pissed clean when another man didnt.
HE IS THE HW CHAMPION..and u should delete your comment understanding that he was cheated..he was feared!..
povetkin should get a loss on his record imo and Wilder should get a Win
and wilder should get to sue his fuggin socks offComment

dude is forgetting that this so called beast "pedvetkin" was too fearful to get in the ring with a wilder in his natural state...if that is not legitimacy then wat in the hell is.Wilder is fine. Stiverne was a legit heavyweight contender, and Deontay beat him easily. He's a legit heavyweight, whether his haters like it or not. I live in the Southeast. I attended his fight with Molina. Deontay has no problems drawing there. As a fan of his, I wanted this fight for him to shut up his haters. But he's not to blame for it falling apart. Ten years ago when the belts didn't seem to matter much, he would have "needed" this fight. When Wladimr was seen as an untouchable champion, he would have needed this fight. But now that everybody is belt crazy, just have the strap keeps him relevant. And as long as he has it, he's gonna be in line for a big fight.
a povetkin win wasnt going to bring more fans..it was just going to be a good win..and imo he won even without fighting...DQ victory for wilder..nobody told povetkin to puss outComment

Well, fear maybe not, but certainly wanted the advantage.so u dont understand that Pedvetkin took this out of FEAR!..if everyone who fought wilder tried to juice out of fear i'd be callin him the most feared/greatest fighter of all time...

and no, Wilder is not the HW world champion. The sport is definitely broken and corrupt, but not enough that beating Stiverne (who beat Arreola, who was beaten by Kassi) would make you the HW world champion. Not yetComment

Sure, but not the most meaningful. Had Wilder beaten Povetkin, it'd be even bigger. This is why you want contenders for the throne to have a legitimate contender resume, not just a severely overrated Stiverne. If Fury/Wlad were to walk over Wilder, he probably wasn't that good to begin with and it'd just be another case of people blinded by the belt. If Wilder beat Povetkin, there's no dispute over Wilder. He'd be an absolutely solid contenderComment

are you talking Financially or significance to the sport? Because I disagree on both. Its only a positive for wilder.... Fury doesn't gain zilch from fighting Wilder legacy wise. At least have wilder establish himself before taking on the #1 guy in the world.Comment

Considering Povetkin was using the same stuff for his last fights (when it was legal), I don't think he made a special case for Wilder. Its more likely he thought he could get away with using it still, especially given the leniency of the Russian commission.dude is forgetting that this so called beast "pedvetkin" was too fearful to get in the ring with a wilder in his natural state...if that is not legitimacy then wat in the hell is.

The guy in the photo is MMA fighter Sergei Kharitonov, he was suppose to fight in Bellator this past Saturday and pulled out at the last second due to 'undisclosed illness', right after Povetkin's test result was announced. They were most likely both dirty.Comment

Floyd and Manny are both suspect because they both used the services of the "suspect shake" maker Ariza, however neither one has a positive sample. Povetkin is a level above mere su****ion! That's exactly what he did. Ita crystal clear. I don't even understand people trying to defend it. Its different from the Floyd-Manny thing in that Manny simply didn't wanna do extensive testing, which is suspect. But, he had a leg to stand on in that Floyd, at the time, was asking thinga above and beyond the commission's policies. Povetkin flatout got busted cheating. And to make it worse, he got caught cheating right in the middle of camp. Unless his B sample comes back negative, Wilder has the right to cancel the fight. Povetkin should also be suspended and stripped of his mandatory poaition.Comment

This is some real talk now. I will be so satisfied when Povetkin will be proven to be clean, the fight will be rescheduled and all the dumbasses from NSB will have a very big butthurt.MOSCOW - Russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin denied taking meldonium Monday after a failed doping test caused his fight against WBC champion Deontay Wilder to be postponed.
