Well the footwork is debateable. GGG hasn't fought any good movers at all so although he looks like he's cutting the ring off well, we have to see him in vs someone who actually has some good footwork that makes him work. Canelo has better upperbody movement...but that's not saying much as GGG doesn't even bother with the level of opposition he sometimes faces.

His jab is brutal..his left hook to the body is harder, but Canelo is good at landing to the body from any range. Canelo is the better boxer/counter puncher in addition to having the better movement and rhythm to his pace and placement. GGG is much cagier than given credit for though and he kind of takes the steam off more punches than it appears. He loosens up a bit as he's walking in and falls back with the punches while keeping his footing.

GGG is favored almost strictly because of his power and ability to apply it and absorb the little his opposition can offer. If he wasn't such a big puncher people would be saying this is just kirkland and angulo all over again.

Is Canelo really that much better than lemeuix or a guy like Martin Murray?
First of all, Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara, Alfredo Angulo, and James Kirkland were all the same size as Alvarez was, in the ring, when they fought; trying to count the Khan/Cotto/Mayweather/Lopez fights as being indicative of Canelo's career either shows your ignorance or you just played yourself.

Beyond that, outside of better footwork, you can't point to a single other category where Golovkin simply overwhelms Canelo. You add that Golovkin gets hit, a lot, and gets hit a ton when his opponent stands and returns fire, the fight is far more competitive than what folks seem to think.

The biggest hole in Canelo's entire game is that, at this point (and possibly for the rest of his career) it takes him a while to get things going if he's got to hunt you down.

Golovkin's going to come to Alvarez, Golovkin will throw a ton of unnecesary extra punches, and Alvarez's evolving "catch-and-shoot" style will leave him positioned to make Golovkin pay for every mistake.

Is Canelo that much better than Lemieux? Yes, without a doubt. Is Canelo that much better than Murray? I think so.

Noooo come on man, Angulo and Kirkland are straight forward bulls and they don't really box. I think Martin Murray and lemuiex give Canelo all kinds of problems.

I think it's unfortunate but we as fans will not get the fight everyone is making it out to be. I think it ends under 9 rounds, Canelo competitive for about 3-5 of those rounds.

I think GGG will win and probably by KO. but Canelo should give him his hardest fight yet and maybe even win a round or two. Many don't realize GGG is so good he not only doesn't lose fights, he seldom loses rounds. I think Canelo is the 2nd best middleweight in the world but GGG is the best middleweight in the world by a large margin. Canelo hits hard but not as hard as GGG. His KO record of about 92 percent and 16 KOs in a row is amazing. Neither man has ever been knocked down but there is always a first time.

You forgot to mention hatton, a catch weight of 150 for the 154 belt, and ginger came over the weight limit, and before that cotto, gomez etc... he has always been the bigger man in the ring, Lara was 164-165 and ginger was over 170-172,

GGG has already fought better than Canelo that some want to try and swipe to the side because Golovkin made easy work of it.
              Canelo will get outclassed.

Golovkin is too good for Canelo.

GGG is completely dominant at 160, Canelo is so-so at 154 (okay 155).
