Chins
Joshua (B)
Did get rocked by Whyte, who is a big puncher, but recovered well, took big shots in the amateurs of Cammarale, Dychko and others, and held them well.
Wilder (D)
Got dropped like a sack of potatos by Sconiers (23% Ko's) and given 30 seconds to recover by the ref, was on ***** street forthe restofthe round before taking out a heavily gassed sconiers in the following round. dropped by a check jab off the 350lb dustin nichols, stopped, dropped and rocked several times in the amateurs, rocked and buzzed in every fight since the stiverne fight.
Power
Joshua (A)
Extremely powerful, anything that lands hurts, has knocked out iron chinned fighters like kevin johnson
Wilder (A-)
A level below joshua, does hit hard but needs accumilation or a blind counter to produce his ko's. Could not finish an ill stiverne, glass jawed szpilka took several clean power shots
speed
Wilder B+
Is quick, mostly in straight lines but covers ground well
Joshua C
Not that quick, has ok handspeed but ambles around the ring
Defence
Joshua B-
Uses a tight guard at times, but can be lazy with his defence, shows head movement when focused
Wilder C-
Defence consists of running backwards with his hands in the air
strength
Wilder D
Not very strong, frail build, pushed around by small szpilka
Joshua B+
Very strong
-------------------------------------------------
The pick
Joshua KO3 Wilder
This fight is likely to be a shootout, Wilder is not comfortable throwing big shots against agressive opponents until late into fights, he does not posess the defence, nor the chin to withstand much if anything from joshua, arsenal, and is just too open to survive this type of fight against a guy who matches his height and reach. Running backwards with your hands in the air is ok against short guys with short reach but against joshua it will get him caught, and taking his dire punch resistence into account, it will get him knocked out.
If Kevin Johnson couldn't take joshuas punches, i dread to think what they will do to wilder.
