would Mayweathers record count if he was to fight mc Gregor??

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's the question really, would he then move to 50-0 or would this not be counted (officially) and just put down as a exhibition??

And also, if McGregor some how won, would his record be 1-0 in boxing or what would be the story their???

If its a sanctioned boxing match then yes he would be 50-0, and conor would be 1-0.

I'd assume it would be sanctioned under some boxing commission, so Conor would need a boxing license then i guess it would be an official fight.

Interestingly, didn't one state commission refuse Ward v somebody because it was a mismatch? Yet Floyd could fight somebody making their debut but it would probably get sanctioned...money talks.

This. If it happened someone would sanction it I know that much. Might not be Nevada cuz they've tightened up what they'll allow, but Arizona just let RJJ fight a MMA guy with 0 boxing matches & a marginal minor league MMA record.

This thing would be so nuts they could probably take it to some Asian country for big bucks cuz some of those Asian countries are nuts x 20 & do Lion vs Bear fights & ****.

But they could go the exhibition route if they make it some hybrid match that isn't 100% boxing or 100% MMA. Some people consider the Ali vs Inoki fight the first modern day MMA match & that was considered an exhibition & made both guys some nice money at that time iirc, but didn't count towards Ali's record

It should be billed as a pro exhibition bout ,neither fighter should recieve a win on a pro resume that is added to their pro boxing record . Boxing /MMA licence falls under the same commission at least in P.A ,not sure Connor needs a boxing licence .

Why even talk about it? Dana White will never allow for his fighters to box, same reason Silva vs Roy Jones never happened. UFC owns these guys, they have no say in it.

Why wouldn't it? Does it count when any fighter starts off his career by fighting a can who is 1-6!? Or
                    Some absurd record like that
