It depends on who you ask I guess, I think it would be a great win for him, his best so far, but if you're one of the guys who claim Golovkin is a hype job that's never fought anybody, they cant really bump Canelo up on their P4P list for beating a guy like that can they?

He'd be either at 2 or 3. I'd have him behind the kovalev-ward winner, and #2 would be a toss-up between canelo (if he beats ggg) and chocolatito. Alot of it depends on what gonzalez does in that same time frame. He would have to beat either Estrada or inoue, otherwise I would definitely have canelo ahead. Hell, the kovalev-ward loser could still be #2 depending on how the fight actually plays out.

For me he would be top 3 if he were to beat GGG (he won't).

I think the Kovalev-Ward winner will probably earn the top spot.

But I really can't tell you until I see the fights happen. There is more than just winning or losing when it comes to being that highly rated on a P4P list

Top 3 definitely. The exact position would depend on the level of dominance displayed in both this fight and the Ward/Kovalev one.

And as Canelo himself says GGG has done nothing and is nothing so beating him would mean nothing.

But then again we all know its a big IF, Canelo first doesnt have the balls to get in the ring with GGG and if he does hes getting hospitalized inside 4 in all fairness.
You're an idiot. Lara, Trout, Angulo, Mosley Cotto and Kirkland had been and have been fighting at 154 for a long time.

And answer this moron, if Canelo isn't top ten material, then where does that put Mr. 97K at when he beats him? If Canelo's a bum like you make him out to be, then does the Bum Killer Golovkin even deserve a spot on the top ten?

Is Golovkin a special fighter? Because if he is, that is grounds for P4P#1.

um.. if performance matters, the way he beat them^ was devastating. Hopkins couldn't win a single round on a single card. Pascal who was never knocked out LET ALONE KNOCKED DOWN was dropped and KO'd by Kovalev.

Canelo is already P4P #1 on boxrec

But nah, in all honesty, Ward or Kovalev deserve #1 and #2

people are riding GGG hard and even have him in the top 3 now.

If Canelo beat GGG, I'd put him as my #1 P4P unless/until Kovalev beat Ward, in which case I'd amend Canelo to #2 behind Kovalev.

Some sources already say Canelo is the #1 P4P and that Golovkin is #3 (with Kovalev in #2).

If GGG beats Canelo, on the other hand, where would you guys put him?
