I thought he was the real deal after the Matthysse fight but he's been useless ever since.
Is danny garcia the most overrated welterweight?

... against a special fighter, yes.
People ignore this point but, outside of having A+ grit, Danny "Swift" Garcia is basically a B+/B fighter in every other aspect of boxing (sans maybe straight-up foot speed).
Kell Brook, Timothy Bradley, and likely Errol Spence Jr, from a talent standpoint, are the only fighters that I'd say would beat Danny Garcia; every other 147 fighter on the planet has a hole in their game that Danny Garcia's tool set would use to beat them (especially if the bar is winning 7 frames in an 12-round fight).Comment

No. People don't hold him to high regard. He's not a top 5 welterweight and I could even see an argument for him not being top ten. He fought Salka in one of the most disgraceful fights to be sanctioned. He lost to Herrera, looked awful against Peterson, and for the most part has been content with fighting bums in his last fights.
If anything he is underrated. I mean I know he sucks, but he doesn't suck that much.Comment

how did he lose the Herrera fight when 1)Herrera fought almost exclusively behind that busy jab, Garcia was landing with his power shots, and Garcia ended up outlanding Herrera anyway?Nah, I don't think he is overrated, especially on this site. He's in the welterweight picture but I don't see many people saying he's that good, just that he finds ways to win. I don't think you will find many to disagree that he lost to Herrera. The Peterson fight he won, and this is coming from somebody from DC, Lamont lost that fight although he looked better in the second half. The Guerrero fight didn't impress at all, I didn't score it as I watched it in a Dave N Busters, but it seemed like an even fight from what I can remember
People forget that the Garcia-Herrera cards were 8-4,8-4, and 6-6; not a blowout fight, by any means.Comment

What fight did you watch? Garcia was missing with his power punches and getting tagged at will with the jab. I don't for one second believe Garcia out landed Herrera, the system they use for that is unreliable. If anything Herrera out landed Garcia.how did he lose the Herrera fight when 1)Herrera fought almost exclusively behind that busy jab, Garcia was landing with his power shots, and Garcia ended up outlanding Herrera anyway?
