Am I missing something on why Dusty is such a strong (-550 or better) favorite in this fight? Dusty has a great amateur pedigree and some good skills but he's literally not fought anyone of note his entire professional career (i.e., not even anyone rated in the top 100 in the division).

Mike Dallas also has a good amateur pedigree but has much more experience than Dusty. He's actually beaten some decent guys and arguably even beat Mauricio Herrera in a fight many say Dallas got robbed in. Dallas has lost (miserably) when he's stepped up in competition to fight more well known names like Lucas Matthysse and Josesito Lopez but who's to say Dusty is even on that level yet, especially when he hasn't fought anyone?

From what I've seen Dallas is a good boxer who knows how to box from the outside and will have a clear speed advantage vs. Dusty. I do see that Dallas hasn't fought much since the 1st round KO loss vs. Matthysse (has only had 2 fights in Tijuana last year since then) so the big question would be how good he still looks after the long layoff. Also the fight is in Dusty's backyard (Washington D.C.) so a close fight would likely be scored his way. Will also be interesting to see if Dusty has shown any improvement under new trainer Barry Hunter (the performances I saw from Dusty on Friday Night Fights weren't very impressive IMO).

But it seems to me Mike Dallas is a *very* live dog here...

Is this Dusty guy a real contender at 147? This is the first I've heard of him.

Probably duz dallas fought at a lower weight class and got beat up a few times. I can see Harrison even fighting at 154 soon. He should stop him.
