Did Mayweather vs McGregor need cold water thrown on it? I guess for non-combat sports fans it did.

Gotta admit thats a great strategy at the end of the day. I mean its a lil awkward at first, but you can't argue with the result.

His striking style is all wrong for boxing and he'd get embarrassed by guys far less talented than Floyd. They're looking to grow his brand, not shrink it. I'm anxious to hear where UFC 202 takes place.

Correct. It also cuts both ways, as a few years ago Ricardo Mayorga wanted to do MMA but was under contract with Don King who did not allow it.

If there is a commission out there that would approve this fight - it would be insane. You've got either a novice boxer with no professional boxing fights against the best P-4-P boxer in the world - or - you've got a novice MMA fighter with no amateur or professional MMA fights fighting one of the best P-4-P MMA fighters in the world. It's idiotic! I wouldn't want to see the fight in either discipline. It's a mismatch either way.

Agree with Dana here. Mayweather is doing everything he can to keep his name in the news. Every couple of weeks a story comes up with his name on it. He would never fight Conor under MMA rules. So would be a pointless fight.
