Two of those "bums" GGG KOed were featured on the card, both winning by KO, in a total of 6 rounds between the two fights. They both are regarded as two of the hardest hitting fighters in the MW division. Many of Golovkins victims had never been KOed or knocked down prior.

If GB & Canelo are smart they use this as their way out of the Golovkin mandatory.

Canelo can use the Andre Ward excuse not to fight Kovalev right away saying that he wants to be a true champion by beating them at the full weight and that in order to do so, he needs time to acclimate to that weight.

Let Golovkin fight Saunders in Aug/Sep and Jacobs in Nov/Dec while Alvarez fights Tureano Johnson and Jorge Heiland (I think Lemieux is too much risk for Canelo).

Lmao, right?! Ward and Kovalev have nothing to do with Canelo and Golovkin. Ward would have had to beat Stevenson, Kovalev would have to been the mandatory, Ward would have had to have wanted the fight at 169, and Ward would have had to just fought Willie Monroe at 169 for the belt.
