  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Khan Not a Top Fighter, Had No Business Fighting Canelo

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum was not surprised by last Saturday's brutal knockout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Amir Khan (31-4, 19KOs), who never fought beyond the welterweight limit, moved up to a catch-weight of 155-pounds to challenge WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs).

Everyone who is not a casual knew that. The thing is the casuals were the target market. Goldenboy and Khan conned them all, and you would have done it to if Khan was with Toprank lol

Golovkin and Mayweather won silver medals too. That parrt of the argument doesn't hold true. The rest? Spot on.

What could Arum's motive be for hating on Khan? Because he does have motives for nearly everything that trips off his tongue. I think he wants Khan out of the picture so that Khan doesn't steal a fight that might otherwise go to Vargas or Bradley.

"Khan doesn't have the greatest chin and he makes mistakes - and he's not a top fighter. The truth is - he's not. He makes believe that he won the gold medal in the Olympics but he only won the silver."

Khan fans will never admit this but the only reason he got the Canelo fight was because he wasn't a threat to win.

Every one knew what was going to happen Mr. Arum. Khan was going to be effective for 2 to 3 rounds, then Canelo was going to catch up with him. No brainer.

I wish Mr. Arum would put Khan in with Timothy Bradley @ 147.
