His team has been saying the same thing. Ward turned them down when they were available, then they turned him down because of DL and Canelo/Cotto situation.

Golovkin himself has refused to talk about Ward ever since his June 15 interview when he said "As a man, you are dead to me".

16,000 in a 20,000 seat stadium isn't a sell out. And second market tickets were going for below face value the weeks leading up to the fight. That's not a good sign. This was supposed to be the new face if boxing, taking over the sport. You notice how they started talking about cowboy stadium? When was the last time the biggest fight in America, featuring the biggest star on America, was held outside Vegas?
