Why Does Canelo Care About Golovkin's Weight?

Not to bring up Mayweather but he has fought junior middleweights and he himself only weighed in at 150. When asked why come in so light Floyd says cause thats where I feel comfortable. If Canelo is so comfortable at 155 then weigh 155. If Golovkin weighs in at 160 then great, whats the problem? Why does Canelo care that Golovkin will be 5 lbs heavier at weigh in? By the time they rehydrate Canelo may be very well bigger and heavier than Golovkin!

Alvarez has fought multiple smaller, lighter, opponents, why is he so against fighting a bigger guy himself? Its not like he has a history of being KO'd...it makes you wonder if he is getting his but kicked by real Middleweights during sparring.

Why did GGG want Ward at 164 but will fight everyone else at 168? that should answer your question to why Canelo is acting the way he is.....

You didn't read the OP. The guy clearly data that unlike Ward, they're about the same size fight night, if anything Canelo is heavier. Not to mention he's lineal MW champ, and Ggg his mando

Larry's point still remains, Golovkin did it to try and weaken Ward, Canelo is trying to do the same

No clearly you dont understand what i posted... I was complimenting GGG .GGG wanted Ward at 164 due to his respect of his skill set..same reason Canelo wants GGG at 155..they want them drained to better their chances

I don't think weakening Ward had anything to do with it, he just not fighting Ward period! Everybody knew Golovkin wasn't going to move up until he got that Alvarez fight, 164 was his easy way out the fight not an actual negotiation.

With that said Ward in fact has been at 168 long enough, he years ago beat the best supermiddleweights, it is time for him to move more so than anyone else!

There's so many legit arguments you could pursue but you grabbed onto the ******est one. The fight game is a game of inches, split seconds, ounces. Everything you concede works against you. Is Canelo right in fighting him about weight? Hell no. But, don't ask why he cares. It's pretty damn clear why he cares.

Because there was a real size difference between both, maybe? I'm not saying it's ok, and he never forced Ward to do it nor was he his mandatory or something. They both campaign at different divisions.

Canelo-GGG is different. They are both MWs with Canelo being 5 pounds heavier than GGG, so what's the point in asking for a CW when you're the one heavier?

In case it was true, that GGG offered Ward a fight at 164, you can make a case of it being fair since both belong to different divisions. Not the case of GGG vs Canelo, which both are MW.

And before you say yes but he was willing to face Froch at 168 or chavez jr, then that's his problem. If he wanted to give advantage to Froch or Chavez jr in order to make 10 millions (money that Ward does not bring) then it's his own business. He was never a Super MW and never held titles there, never was mandatory of Ward or something and he wasn't heavier than Ward fight night, so you can't even make a comparison between both situations.
