Did I miss something? I read the first couple rounds, where Golovkin landed the first significant shot, read where Alvarez hit him with a good combo, and Golovkin just smiled at him. I started just skimming at the point where Canelo is in tje corner, shaking his leg trying to regain feeling in it (reminds me of Willie Monroe). Can someone direct me to the part where Canelo is kicking GGGs ass?

You should write to Doug Fischer and inquire. He wrote the article. Golovkin was 29 years old at the time.

Middle of his Prime GGG vs a very green Canelo who held his own!

GGG took it easy on Canelo.

              Sparring. Not fighting.

Nothing to see here in this lame-o thread.

If you land a sweet right cross followed by a sweet left hook a guy better feel it in his toes, that is like the money combo for an orthodox fighter. The right landed well is going to freeze the other guy and allow for the left hook to land clean on the button.

Canelo is a good boxer that can throw both a good right hand and left hook so he could get the job done. Still Golovkin is a tough dude so if Golovkin is only hurt by that rather than starched Canelo is going to have to get aggressive to try and end it there because Golovkin can turn the fight back around if allowed to stick around because it is not like Canelo is known for having a great gas tank.

do you think Golovkin will be cautious now that Alvarez is at 160?

I mean Golovkin is best when he is aggressive, he can afford to be cautious and box a guy like Lemieux who is like the definition of a wild slugger but I don't think he can sit back and be cautious to come out ahead against a quality skilled boxer like Canelo.

I don't like Canelo when he has to chase a fight either but in a boxing contest I have to favor him over Golovkin.

So really I think Canelo has a chance of cracking Golovkin either way through just out boxing him or Golovkin being aggressive. With that being the case Golovkin should be a bit careful but he needs to put the pressure on deal with Canelo's fire power and just push the pace on Canelo making him work harder than he wants to.
