Fighting the way that Herrera fought, tbf, goes against every instinct and habit that he's picked up likely since when he was ramping up for the Olympics.

Amir Khan's instinct is to fight; if he's not going to be able to KO you, he's going to use his handspeed/volume to overwhelm you, walking you into some **** or compelling the ref to stop the fight. catch-and-shoot fighters, at the elite level, savage Khan's instinctive style, almost as a rule.

Danny Garcia, comfortably at 147 and with at least 4 years of top-level experience since then, would savage Amir Khan, likely stopping him by the 8th/9th round, largely because the pattern doesn't change; Khan starts out boxing beautiful for the first two rounds, by the tail-end of round 2/round 3 adjustments are made (putting the opponent outside/inside of the range that Khan likes to fire off at), Khan sits in the pocket for longer than he should (looking to fire off his quick combinations), the timing is basically figured out by Rd 3/4, and the fan is then left waiting for Khan to make that fatal mistake.

Mauricio Herrera fights how Mauricio Herrera is supposed to fight; not the best athlete in the world, a short but decent amateur career, and a guy (after leaving the sport for almost 5 years) who came back late to make a go of it with what he did have (grit, a decent boxing brain, and a solid jab that he could do a lot with).

Canelo simply was too big and strong, Garcia is a smaller guy, a small 147'er.

Khan needs to fight him come the end of the year.

I respect Danny, but i got Khan in the rematch.
Khan will get hit, Danny Garcia isn't a feather-fisted fighter at 147, and Khan will react to sustaining damage the way he always reacts to sustaining damage; lose his boxing brain, set his fight, and try to **** his way to safety.

You add that Danny Garcia comes to a rematch with far more tools added to his arsenal (an effective jab, a good right hand punch, and good work with both hands to the body) while being a guy about Khan's size to begin with, and I don't see how this doesn't end bad for Amir.

I don't believe Danny is the same fighter after his war with Lucas and the same goes for Lucas.

They both lost something in that fight.

Danny can prove me otherwise, i still root for him, but a certain spark has gone.

I got Khan winning the rematch, and i can already picture the game plan. Its a 50/50 fight, depends on who executes the better game plan

Khan was winning easily the 1st, 2nd rounds. He was even winning in the 3rd I til he got caught. Yeah, it wasn't like he was winning 6 rounds. It was still very early and that knockdown in the 3rd changed the fight and maybe his career completely.

He was not winning, he got the 1st rounds and lost the other 2 by a landslide

Khan can flat out fight he just needs to stop getting hit so clean, he can school Garcia at 147. He showed his class, he also showed his glass jaw against Canelo.

                  Great rematch

Great rematch Danny struggles against volume punchers if the khan that showed up this weekend will cause major problems but one solid hit could change the outcome !!!

Lol people disregard the knock downs because it ended up in a KO. If Bayless let Khan continue and Khan survived the 4th round that would have been a 10-7 4th round. Putting DSG up 38-35. By the end of the 3rd round DSG already tied the fight 28-28.
