Why do people say Khan was brave for taking this fight?

The canelo fight was ripe for him right now. He took the fight like a man who was getting paid well should.
Not like that **** Floyd who ran from prime manny in his prime. Or like Canelo who will do the same thing with Golovkin.
Kahn has never backed away from tough fights.

Right, OP. If he was really courageous he would have fought Brook. But getting flatlined by Brook doesn't leave him the built-in excuse that he has for getting flatlined by Canelo.
And what was particularly amusing was the post fight interview where Khan and his whiny trainer ran like little babies to call to Daddy G and beg him to go beat up the bad man who gave Khan the owie. How embarrassing.

Khan is a worldclass pro boxer who got paid $13M for this fight. Any welterweight would step into the ring with Canelo if they were guaranteed a $13M paycheck.

And let's not diminish Khan's bravery and legit attempt at actually fighting Canelo and giving it his "all", but let's face it the "Two weight classes" thing is kind of exaggerated the way people spoke about it. He went up 8lbs, which is 1 more pound than 154. Technically yeah it's 2 weight classes because Middleweight is from 155-160. But let's face it, he really just went up 1 weight class and 1lb.

Hopkins v Tarver, Pacquiao v De La Hoya, Marquez v Mayweather, Guerrero v Aydin, Broner v Malignaggi, these are real examples of jumping up two full weight classes.
Khan is more in the company of what Pavlik and Winky did, going up two weight classes in technical terms, to 170lbs to fight Hopkins. None of these feats nothing to scoff at though, going up 8-10lbs to fight bigger men is not nothing.

Lopez wasnt winning rounds, he got beat from corner to corner and then knocked out.
Khan was still in that fight up until the KO, most had him up by 4 rounds others had him winning by 5.
Yes both got knocked out, but one didnt put up a fight or win a round.Last edited by FrankieBruno; 05-08-2016, 11:50 PM.
