Straight up- Will GGG-Canelo happen this year?

Will GGG-Canelo happen in Fall 2016? Honestly I had no hope for this fight to happen before the Khan fight, even though it HAS to happen.

But after Canelo called GGG into the ring- Oscar saying it'll happen before the fight, and EVERYBODY pestering Canelo about GGG in the build up and last night (he looked annoyed in the ring when he was saying he doesn't **** around), I think this happens, no doubt, THIS year.

There's no way Canelo would not let this fight happen now, at this point. His fans would probably disown him, IMO. It's out on the table now- they all know there's a guy named GGG who's been waiting for that WBC belt.

The only thing I still honestly have no idea about- is the weight. I think the fight happens this fall, no more marinating BS, but who's going to budge on weight? I know Canelo is the star- but I don't think he makes 155 comfortably, dude looked kinda dry at the weigh in. I believe Canelo will finally accept his fate in the coming weeks and give in.

Will this fight happen next, this year?

Exactly.... We're talking about boxing, bruh. Logic does not always apply.

We can very well be victims of "GGG-Canelo is next! but lets let it marinate for summer 2017, with a tune up for each guy first" type of thing

Well in the case of delayed superfights, the other guys usually have viable money making options to fall back on when negotiations fall apart. But GGG now knows he can't really sell a large amount of PPVs strictly on his own. And there are no big money fights for Canelo in between 154-160 either. Any WW that fights him after Khan would be career suicide. So they are kinda backed into a corner now and I think GBP realizes it's time to cash out. The only question now would be the issue of weight and whether a compromise can be reached.

True. Well, I suppose I agree, I believe this fight is happening next.

It makes TOO MUCH sense. GGG is the absolute biggest fight for Canelo left, hell in his career. Nobody else realistically other then Floyd would give Canelo a bigger pay day, or add more to his legacy than GGG.

Honestly, if Canelo beat GGG (at 160) he could just retire. There would be no bigger challenges left.

Yes because Canelo has never ducked anyone. Haters will continue hating no matter who he fights. Its gonna be a good fight where both hit hard and anything can happen.
GGG by TKO or Canelo by KO. This fight is not gonna go the distance

He avoided a 160lb unification to determine the undisputed MW champion, to fight a 147lber. At 155.

Canelo would lose more fans if he vacated instead of stepping up..

Since it's all about the $$$tarpower, I think it will happen.
Alvarez has too much to lose if he vacates.

No. It will happen on Cinco de Mayo, next year, at 160. It's still a 50/50 fight for me.
