Comments Thread For: Amir Khan: I Plan To Go Back Down To Welterweight

The British fighter moved up to a catch-weight of 11st 1lb [155-pounds], five pounds below the middleweight limit to take on WBC champion Alvarez. Khan was able to out-box Alvarez in the early rounds despite the judges favouring the Mexican.

Try 140+1Lb and call it welterweight.

I thought 155 was your natural weight and you were draining to get to 147....now 147 is your natural weight again??

Amir Khan did a great job, obviously he is small. Call me crazy but i have it 5-0amir khan. i dont know how judges have canelo ahead when he cleared was missing shots, he didn't throw combinations only body shots. Khan just need a better corner and better defense

Khan looked the part. Form what I saw, he will have problems going back to 147. I wouldn't mind seeing how he does @ 154.

What did Khan do after the 2nd round exactly?

How is it possible to score round 4 or 5 in his favour? On what basis? Landing nothing while starting to get timed and broken down is not winning.

Those 'only body shots' slowed him down, quickly.

              Canelo connected more.

Canelo landed more damaging shots. Body shots are power shots.

Canelo was the aggressor. Especially beginning round 3.

              That's why.

Many of you were fooled by Khan's flashy combos and footwork. Yes, he looked stylistically decent in rounds 1 and 2, outside of that, it was all Alvarez once he got pissed off at Khan's distance fighting.

This fight is how Pacquiao/Algieri should have turned out.

The big story here is YET AGAIN we see corrupt judges! When is this b.s. going to end? I had Khan ahead by 2-3 rounds at the stoppage. Totally fair. He was faster, landing more, frustrating Canelo. Meanwhile, Canelo, yes, was landing some body shots, but he CLEARLY was not winning the fight. Again, WHEN will we start seeing some fights without incompetent and/or corrupt judges?

Here's a good test: Have you heard of the judge when they announce their name at the beginning of the fight? If so, THEY ARE CORRUPT. One would have to be delusional to thing a judge can be around 10-20-30+ years and not be bought-and-paid-for.
