Comments Thread For: Curtis Stevens: I Really Want David Lemieux Next!

Opening the HBO Pay-Per-View broadcast, Brooklyn bomber Curtis "Cerebral Assassin" Stevens (28-5, 21 KOs) gave Brazilian Patrick Teixeira (26-1, 22 KOs) his first career loss to win the vacant WBC De Las Americas Middleweight Title. Both fighters began the fight with high intensity, exchanging blows during the first round. At the beginning of the second round, Stevens landed shocking hits to Teixeira, knocking the wind out of him. In a right jab to the face sending Teixeira to the mat with one minute and four seconds left on the clock, "The Cerebral Assassin" got the knockout, causing the crowd to go wild.

good fight. his belt should be upgraded to interim full wbc title since canelo hasn't made any legitimate defenses. lemieux-stevens will be for the title.

Canelo vs GGG with this as the under card would be a explosive night.

If this happens we'll be getting more gold like this from Curtis:

Give them each another fight to build this one up a bit more. I think they're both improving a little with how their setting up their power shots. Have them both on the Canelo/Pacquiao undercard this September.

Lemieux versus Stevens would be a hell of a fight. It wouldn't go 12 rounds for sure. If theirs a way to make this a title eliminator fight then I think this can be made easily.

De La Hoya was impressive. He has a lot more than a last name, and is improving by fight. How about Castallenos next for Diego?

Guaranteed barn burner. No way that fight isn't extremely entertaining. I doubt Lemieux's camp would be eager to take this one though.
