What is the real reason for Canelo picking Khan?

I have been thinking about it and I can't come up with a good reason. A good name for 5 de Mayo fight(Money)? A name for his resume? What does it do for his legacy? Were they trying to look impressive to scare other contenders? I mean, other than money this fight did more damage than good to his image simply because it had the outcome that everybody (ok, most with half a brain) were expecting. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing him as a boxer, he is talented and a solid champ but what was the strategy here?

      Golden Boy

Canelo is their cash-cow and they needed a name that didnt pose a risk to generate profits now and in the future

It was a very good business decision. A "name" you're guaranteed to KO.

          Easy Publicity.

Casuals love KOs. Fight a guy who is known for having a weak chin.

          KO him. Easy Publicity.

Oscar said the fight was his idea.

With that in mind, we know what was on his mind; $$$

I guess they could build the GGG fight as two "killers"! Makes sense!
