The thing is, you're probably right. Maidana is probably the better puncher even taking into account the size difference (Maidana blows up to over 160 himself anyway, at least in his welter days). However, like that actually matters. Why do people always talk about power. Knocking people out is also a matter of skill, and Canelo is a very skilled counter puncher who will catch Khan and finish him off. He certainly has enough power to get Khan out of there and that's all that matters, because he'll tag Khan without issue.

Tip of the week. Joseisto Lopez fought both and said Maidana punches harder than Canelo with certainty. Maidana will also take a punch to dish one with faster foot speed and higher workrate than Canelo.

Which explains why Canelo can't finish the likes of Bgrade Hatton and small old Cotto.


Fully hydrated Khan might be able to pull this off. He survived Maidana for 12 rounds. Remember that. There will be no late surge from Canelo either.
