Allan Green almost didnt make it.

Allan "Sweetness" Green improved his career record to 20-0, defeating Donnie McCray in six rounds on Wednesday Night Fights.
did anyone see this yesterday? Green, incontrol most of the fight consistently got tapped by a left hand. He went down in during the 3rd round , he survived the round and went on later to win by KO in the 6th. I know he has been labeled as the next great thing, but no way he is ready for Calzaghe or Lacy.

Did anyone notice how Mcray went out of his way after the fight to hug Green? He hugged him like three times and the third time he kissed him on the cheek. He was sayning something to Green, it seemed like he was apologizing for knocking him down in the 3rd.

Lots of prospects getting wake-up calls lately: Americo Santos, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Andre Ward, now Green. He needs to fight a handful of Shobox quality prospects and then go after a couple veterans moving their way down out of the Top 15 before he thinks about fighting any of the Ring Top 5 guys they showed on the screen last night...

Green said that he is the best super-middleweight since Roy Jones. If so, he does not need any moving up fights.

McCray really helped his career last night. I can see him being used as a step up in class for young fighters.

I thought the same thing, or as a "legitimate" comeback fight for someone who's fallen off; think Marteze Logan vs. Vivian Harris after Logan upset Americo Santos
