I'm not a GGG fan, nor do I consider myself an idiot. Nevertheless, I believe Canelo is indeed a middleweight, and because he has to rush to rehydrate after the weigh-in, the gains should be astonishing. Specifically, I expect his body to retain a lot more than someone who easily makes weight because its drained. Moreover, as Virgil Hunter alluded to, it's likely that Canelo and his team have some sort of mechanism in place for achieving such huge weight gain. As he said, I'd like to be a fly on the wall for that one.
I'll be rooting for Khan, btw. I fully expect Khan to be destroyed, but I don't particularly admire the unfair match-up, so I'm tempted to go for the underdog. I guess I'll be counting on the weight-gain backfiring, making Canelo unexpectedly slow. As Cotto said, unnaturally gaining large amounts of weight will result in a body that doesn't respond well. In my opinion, it's only a matter of time in Canelo's case. Canelo's still young, though, so, who knows?
But everybody will see that those "official" weights, are far from the eye test...you can see when someone outweighs another guy....we all going to see how Canelo is bigger than Khan on fight night.
