They might as well give GGG the belt now. If Canelo is willing to fight GGG he's gonna demand some catchweight from 155 to 158 probably & GGG & his people have stated thats a no go they only care about the belt + a fight at 160 & not the money they'd make for the fight vs Canelo.

So might as well cut the **** & just hand over the belt & Canelo can go making $10M+ for non-title fights & GGG can go around making $2M for defending most of the titles. Funny how boxing works in 2016 ain't it lol.

It's really difficult to take WBC at their word, but at least this is in writing and signed by all parties involved. There could be legal ramifications if they try and backtrack. The WBC has been successfully sued before, and was very close to filing bankruptcy and closing shop. You would think they will try and avoid something like that happening again.

No if they have any interest in that fight they should offer that 155-158 lol, see if it gets them anywhere. Then vacate if no flexibility. He'd look like less of a coward that way.

Wasn't it 15 days to get a decision from Canelo to fight GGG?

The winner has 10 days after the fight to inform the WBC of their intention, if they decide to defend against the mando they will have 30 days to complete negotiations, if they cannot with in 30 days, then the WBC would send the fight to a purse bid, if both parties still intend to go through with the fight.

15 days to start, 30 days to come to terms.

Yes, but that doesnt change the title situation.

De La Hoya knows this is hurting

This is what he said Tuesday, now they are trying to undermine it, because they cannot escape the GGG question.

“Canelo knows how to focus on the job at hand and take care of business,” De La Hoya said. “And then, come May 8th, I’m going to start making the calls to Golovkin’s people and see if we can work it out.”
