If he were to do it he should wait until he's about to announce a network deal for PBC and sit down with a legitimate media show like 60 minutes. Someone he does actual investigative reporting. Rafael is small time. If I were to go small time I'd give an interview to a blogger like fighthype, fighthub, the boxing voice, or Jake from here. That would really piss off Rafael but **** him. The small blogging sites are the ones that's kept boxing going when the major news sites pushed boxing to the "other" tab.
When is Al Haymon going to speak up for himself?

In these circumstances speaking up would only give power to the media.
Staying silent places the media beneath him. He doesn't need to talk and validate them.Comment

The timing I agree with. I think you do it early on or you do it upon something big & positive happening at a future date. Idk about 60 minutes. I think Real Sports would be perfect. I think Oprah might be better than 60 minutes. And idk about investigative reporting being need per se, he just needs to get out there & say this is bs first & foremost. Right now there are people accusing him or implying a bunch of f#cked up **** & no one is even saying its bs from his end. Thats a problem. If he were to do it he should wait until he's about to announce a network deal for PBC and sit down with a legitimate media show like 60 minutes. To a lot of people silence upon negative accusations implies some level of guilt. If Haymon is legit guilty its a great move to keep quiet right now & maybe thats the case idk.
On the other hand if he's not guilty of helping Lamon Brewster fight with only one good eye (or other things people say) not saying anything about it isn't helping get that news out of the media or making that legit concern people have with him out of mouth of enemies & non-enemies alike.
Sorta like when Hauser wrote that article critical of the USADA & the USADA replied back, Haymon needs someone to counteract these various issues people have brought up about him on some level. I mean hell Hauser is HBO's lapdog since HBO hired him to quit talking about them. Haymon needs to hire someone to be his lapdog in the media to control his narrative at very least. To some extent Haymon is a liability for PBC with his current rep by people who talk about boxing. He's boxings favorite boogieman these days.Comment

Why does he have to speak up? If he speaks up, then he'll be required to explain why he makes meaningless fights every now and then.
To be fair, he owes nobody any explanations except his investors, who obviously don't care how their money is being spent.Comment

Being uncooperative with the media maintains Al's autonomy and ability to act on his terms. To a lot of people silence upon negative accusations implies some level of guilt. If Haymon is legit guilty its a great move to keep quiet right now & maybe thats the case idk.

The media is a weapon that controls people through shaming. It demands explanations.
The less someone needs to explain their actions, the more powerful they are.
Playing with the media is great when you're the one in control of it. Otherwise it opens the door for all kinds of d1ck lickers.
If Al could turn the media into his b1tch like Trump is doing, then by all means.
The good thing about social media is people can create their own media platforms. Having a strong Twitter for example lets people get their message out to their supporters.
Boxing media is biased against the we in it for money and transparent about it camp.Last edited by GrandpaBernard; 05-04-2016, 02:14 PM.Comment

Shoot man you are right. Why should he care. He found a way to bilk this company(waddle and Reid) out of 1 billion dollars to pay his fighters these outrageous amount of money which he will get 20% from for his advisory services. So he isn't worried about the PBC brand.Comment
