Comments Thread For: Gassiev Warns Povetkin: Wilder Punches Harder Than Klitschko

It could very well be the hardest fight in the career of 36 year-old of Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin, who on the 21st of May in Moscow will challenge WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35KOs)

Wilder, with his rotten footwork, poor defense and wild swings gets caught early and taken out by 7

But but but Wilder is a fraud that can't box and is terrified of good fighters, right????

                I wouldn't be surprised if that's true.

Part of me wants him to beat Povetkin because then I would be more excited about all the possible future matchups (AJ/Fury/Ortiz/Paker etc). If he can box well enough to beat a solid veteran like Povetkin then we have to seriously consider the chances he'll unify the titles like he's been on about.

Interesting. I wouldn't have expected Wilder to be a bigger puncher than Wlad

I am pleasantly surprised actually that you say that.. It is quite evident with Wilders punches isn't it.. Not as accurate as Wlad, yes but power I guess even Haye had said that Wilder has concussive punches compared to Wlads thudding punches.. But can he land flush is the question, sometimes he swings wildly but if he catches you flush with right then it'll rock even the good chins for sure.. It's an interesting match ups, Povetkin has a decent chin and solid power compared to Wilders weak chin and rock solid power.. My guess is it won't go the distance and either man can be KO'ed by the other..
