Thurman will probably be more difficult to deal with because these guys don't want to fight for less money even after they lose. He has also seemed reluctant to step up, so he'll be seen as a hypejob. Imagine if Haymon wants to throw him in with Spence, to set up Spence for welterwight domination......Thurman would rather retire or ask for one jillion dollars.
    ^^^I can totally see this^^^

They both would be OK after a loss... Danny would have ducked them anyway.

If Porter loses, this will be his 2nd loss at the top level. Personally for that reason I think itll set Porters career back further than Thurmans but at the same time if Porter wins in big fashion, the Ora of "One Time" will be gone.

Thoughts? And when I say win (nothing controversial) a clear UD, TKO, or KO win...
If they were Asian or Filipino, no loss, would ever detract from their greatness.
To answer your question, I have no idea.

Thurman by far! There are so many people waiting for him to fail its a shame they call themselves fans! It will be his first loss which will also test how strong he is mentally. If he wins, he should be getting some respect for sure!

Thurman, he losses his "0" when he steps up to a prime fighter.

In the end is how they loose and if the promotional company still backs them

It would hurt Thurman more because he markets his 0. It's a part of who he is. Porter is bigger now then he was after he lost to Brook. Broner's most memorable fight is his loss to Maidana. And he lost to Porter and he's even bigger now. Broner-Crawford would be a big PPV. Canelo is the biggest star in boxing and he got embarrassed by Floyd. Losses only hurt when you base your career on the fact you're undefeated. Thurman, Floyd, and GGG are marketed as undefeated. A loss to Canelo would hurt GGG more than Canelo losing to GGG. I don't think a loss is gonna hurt either Kovalev or Ward when they fight each other.

loosing a 0 is the ******est thing ever.

Muhammad Ali lost, so what, he was great!

this must be the shallowest time to be living.

Both guys are still young enough that a loss won't hurt either guy all that much.

Porter taking a 2nd loss at the top level simply sets things up that, from then on, Porter is taking whatever big fight he can get (Berto, Peterson, Guerrero, Algieri, etc) while also being more willing to face the top prospects (Spence Jr, Vasquez Jr).

If Thurman takes the L, he'll have the immediate chance at a rematch (or he'll simply follow the path for another world title shot)

Not sure about thread but just wanted to comment on this. No way Thurman makes it at 154. I wouldn't even put him top 5 if he moves up. At least at 147 he is consider the best or one of the best in that division.
