Common man let's not get carried away here.
He's a good fighter but his biggest win so far was against Algeiri not against Pac, Bradley, or Porte . He has a bright future but still has a lot to prove.

I feel like way too many people feel this way. He's talented as hell and very fundamentally sound, but let's let him continue to rise in the ranks before we deem him the best in the division/unbeatable

He has the tools to dominate but it all depends on how he's handled. I'd say he's about a fight or 2 away from being ready for elite WW fighters.

Last 5 fights huh?? I like Spence but lets not act like casual fans...

He only fought one decent guy..who for some reason chose to stand in front of.him.

History has showed us, that there is levels to boxing and we dont know how he will perform against better competition....so everybody

He certainly appears to be the goods and imo has the most upside potential of the current welterweights, outside of maybe Brook, but I don't see him being at welterweight much longer.

With that said. I'll echo what several people have said in this thread. His defense is a bit suspect and if they fought today, Thurman and Brook both beat him. He needs a run of fights like Chavez, Vasquez, Ponomarev, Alexander or Peterson. If he can beat 2 or 3 of those guys and look good doing it, then I would say he is ready for the top dogs.

Think about all the supposedly future stars who are now labeled bums after losing after stepping up.

Remb. How we used to feel about Thurman....till he start facing guys he couldn't Hurt.

              Remb. Berto, Ortiz, Donaire, etc.

Hell who would have thought Mattyse would have lost to DSG then later quit??
