Sad that Oscar as a fighter took on all comers, big, small he fought them all and win, lose or draw he was respected because of it and always sold big time events but as a promoter, he feels he has to protect his cash cow and essentially cherry pick opponents for him rather than have him mimick his own career of taking on the best.

The only "problem" with this Oscar quote is that it is from Monday 29 February 2016 22.30 GMT -- as the Guardian article reads...
Oscar changed his tune long ago as about that "it will happen very soon" part...

To be fair, Haymon stole most of his fighters. Alvarez is all he's got. These guys, Garcia, Thurman, Alvarez were fighting legitimate fights for their level until Haymon took away half of them.
