Idiotic statement.........nobody forgets someone like GGG especially when he breaks Hopkins record. He's not far off now and has been looking for the best MW for YEARS.........

If Canelo doesn't fight him.......it will tarnish his legacy badly. "one time lineal MW champion gave up the belt rather than face the best MW out there"......

And in case you hadn't noticed......126 and 140-154 are absolutely STACKED with solid guys on the verge of being very good and some even great fighters......nothing weak at all.......HW is getting better, 175 has 2 top 5 P4P about ready to fight........only thing missing or weak is Canelo's lack of commtiment to fighting GGG........

    on that BS post.......

So when we look back on canelos career in 10 years time and we look through canelos career and there are 2 losses which he lost quite emphatically to a floyd mayweather on points and then he was stopped by golovkin inside 9 rounds answer how canelos career will be remembered and golovkin will be forgot about lol....hows that possible cyclops....look canelo can backtrack or run all he likes from golovkin and whether he has the bottle to fight golovkin in September makes no difference because even in 2 years time golovkin will still be the middlweight champion and canelo will be fighting everyday to keep his weight below 157, then it's 158 then ops it's 159...history wil remember canelo getting stripped and not facing the most feared man in the division and simply trying to protect his GDP image .....canelo will get exposed even if he runs away from golovkin

Won the Lineal Title at Welterweight

Also wins over: Julio Cesar Chavez (2x), Hector Camacho, Pernell Whitaker (although arguably a robbery), and more...

            Yeah, Canelo ain't there yet.
            Right here.

To be fair to Canelo, having won the 154 and 160 Ring titles is no easy feat for a 25 year old.
compare their respective performance vs floyd, oscar at the end of his career made it competitive, canelo got taken to school. and i don't buy that "he was too green" excuse, i think at any point of his career floyd takes him to school. i don't see canelo surpassing oscar at all, not now, not ever.

Yeah they rate him, but the story of him avoiding Lewis is still brought up. You're talking about it now.

And that's the thing. Any boxer has points of significance in their career that when you look back on their career, there's always phases in there that you automatically think of. So when people think about Bowe, they will say he was very good fighter but one of the other significant points that follows that is the Lewis thing.

Canelo has only a few big stories in his career so far. One is losing to Floyd, another is fighting Cotto, and the only other one is this current will he/wont be fight Golovkin. If he fights him, it will be a big part of the story of his career, but equally should he vacate/be stripped for avoiding that fight, Golovkin will always be synonymous with the story of his Canelo's career, it will always be a huge reference point in the overview of his career. So even if they rate him, it would never be forgotten.

Another thing is now, we live in a world where everything is documented. All news articles are there to be read, archived on websites, videos etc... so these guys can never escape their actions and words fully, it's there for everyone to see. 20 years ago if a fighter contradicted themselves, nobody really knew. Now we could pull up two interviews in a minute where they contradict themselves or something. Different times.

The point is if Canelo ducks GGG, it will be a big point in the story of his career i believe.
