Comments Thread For: Valdez Title Fight Under Consideration For Crawford-Postol PPV

After his eye-opening performance on April 9th on the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley pay-per-view undercard - where he stopped former IBF featherweight world champion Evgeny Gradovich in four rounds, undefeated 126-pound contender Oscar Valdez could be on the Terence Crawford-Viktor Postol HBO Pay-Per-View card in the summer.

As much as I love boxing, this isn't PPV worthy, I'll pass.

How does Top Rank get first dibs at every WBO title?

There are a few promoters whose world champions almost exclusively hold belts from one organization. I don't think this is an accident, the promoters probably form a good relationship with one of the orgs to give their fighters as many world title fight opportunities as possible.

It's not a coincidence that Arum has primarily WBO holders, Hearn IBF holders etc

It's a joke, really. No wonder this sport is dead in America. "World" champion. What a sham. More like "Top Rank" champion.

Man idk some of those South American cats specifically Argentina cats often seem to be some ho hum resume guys who can compete with respectable guys straight outta Buenos Aires so I'm intrigued with this fight. I'd assume Valdez would still come out on top, but it could be a barn burner or even an upset.

i don't know man, promoters down here suck, look what happened to chavez, hasn't fought in a year and every time he went out he was in one tough fight after the other (thurman, rios, bradley) and i think rueda has the same guy. sometimes they aren't ready and they sent them to the wolves. i do think rueda's power is legit, i like his boxing but i've seen him hurt a few times by low competition.
