  • Comments Thread For: WBC Prez: De La Hoya Can Marinate - And We Can Strip Canelo

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman will not allow further postponements of the mandated fight between WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) and WBA/IBO/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Hehey, a nice new shiny green belt for Glove-King. Maybe Alvarez will do a Cotto and dump the belt before the fight anyway. Soooooo manly and befitting a champion(!)

Its ok, they would strip canelo and made him champion emeritius a few months later. Thats the WBC for you.

Glad they are paying attention to these ridiculous comments coming from GBP. It's really disappointing they are acting like this, especially Canelo himself who I didn't expect this from.

Better noises coming from the WBC at last -- though they'll probably just give Canelo some diamond platnium emeritus belt or something. I'll be impressed and surprised if they straight up strip him (as they should)

                  WBC rules

The first rule of the WBC... don't follow the rules.
